PMD forecasts drizzle in Karachi, monsoon rains to hit Sindh

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast sporadic drizzle for Karachi’s coastal areas today, providing a much-needed respite for residents enduring a recent heatwave.

According to the PMD, monsoon rains are expected to arrive in eastern Sindh starting tomorrow night, with downpours expected in Umarkot, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, and Jacobabad between July 6 and 7.

This weather forecast comes after a very hot time that killed several people in Karachi, according to the Sindh Health Department.

The city’s weather is predicted to stay hot and muggy for the next three days, with temperatures ranging from 34°C to 36°C, despite the anticipated precipitation.

The city is currently experiencing a sea breeze with winds of 12 to 14 km/h, and 30.5°C is the lowest temperature that has been recorded in the past 24 hours.

Sardar Sarfaraz, the chief meteorologist, had already suggested that after July 8, the city would see additional substantial rains.

Due to powerful monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, the PMD also forecasted “vigorous monsoon activity” in Pakistan’s upper and central areas.
