Previously, on July 29, 10 terrorists struck the Bannu cantonment in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, killing eight soldiers, according to a military statement.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the assailants attempted to breach the cantonment but were unsuccessful, prompting them to blast an explosive-laden truck against the surrounding wall.

According to the statement, the suicide bomb collapsed a piece of the wall and destroyed the surrounding infrastructure, killing eight troops.

In response, the United States reiterated its commitment to counterterrorism cooperation with Pakistan, citing their long history of collaboration.

Ryder offered condolences during a news meeting for the eight Pakistani soldiers killed and many injured in a terrorist attack.

Ryder went on: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those soldiers that were lost.”
