‘PTI and Imran Khan have hit dead end’: Manzoor Wassan predicts escalation in political tensions

KARACHI:Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Manzoor Wassan has predicted that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its founder former prime minister Imran Khan have hit a “dead end” and that in the next two-and-a-half months tensions among judiciary, institutions, and politicians would flare up.

He said that substantial changes would occur in PTI soon. He cautioned that brighter days did not appear to be on the way. “The upcoming days don’t look promising for politicians,” Wassan added.

“Rather than bickering, politicians should prioritize the survival of democracy. They should be under no illusions; the situation is not favorable to them. It is probable that the National Assembly will be dissolved, and a caretaker administration would take control.

Wassan voiced fear about a potential huge upheaval, saying, “It feels like the country might undergo a significant cleanup again,” the PPP leader.

“The PTI and its founder are stuck in a dead end.”

He exhorted PTI members to negotiate their current situation intelligently, emphasizing the importance of avoiding reaching a point where there is no way back.

“Imran Khan needs to act responsibly. He must soften his position and make sound judgments. “There may come a time when no one wants to be the prime minister of this country,” Wassan said.
