Saudi Cabinet Underscores Kingdom’s Efforts to Halt Israeli Aggression on Palestinians

RIYADH: The Saudi Cabinet reiterated Saudi Arabia’s support for the Palestinian people on Tuesday, emphasizing the need of doing all possible to put an end to Israel’s escalation and breaches, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The Cabinet was briefed on the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s phone calls with the presidents of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Turkey, during which the Crown Prince emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to unifying Arab and Islamic efforts to support the Palestinian people, as well as the need to exert all efforts to halt Israeli escalation and violations.

The Cabinet was also updated on the Crown Prince’s letter to the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Tonga and his meeting with the President of the European Council.

Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossary, Minister of Media, said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the meeting that the cabinet discussed the outcomes of several international meetings attended by the Kingdom as part of its commitment to increasing cooperation and coordination with brotherly and friendly nations, as well as advancing multilateral efforts to achieve progress and prosperity.

The Cabinet praised the recent meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council’s Executive Committee, which highlighted the two nations’ commitment to improving relations and achieving shared goals in a variety of areas for the benefit of their brotherly peoples.

The Cabinet also assessed regional and international developments, underlining the Kingdom’s unshakable commitment to regional and global measures fostering security, stability, and sustainable development.

Al-Dossary stated that the 50th anniversary of the Saudi Fund for growth is an important milestone that demonstrates the fund’s rising global position, multiple successes, and essential contributions to supporting growth and prosperity in less developed and developing countries.

The Cabinet praised the recent meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council’s Executive Committee, which highlighted the two nations’ commitment to deepening relations and achieving common goals in a variety of areas for the benefit of these brotherly peoples.

The Cabinet also discussed regional and international developments, underlining the Kingdom’s unflinching support for regional and global measures that promote security, stability, and sustainable development.

Al-Dossary underlined that the Saudi Fund for Development’s 50th anniversary is a major milestone that demonstrates the fund’s rising global position, countless successes, and essential contributions to promoting development and prosperity in less developed and developing nations.

Domestically, the Cabinet viewed the two Royal Decrees reconstituting the Council of Senior Scholars and the Shura Council as additional evidence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ unwavering support for the Council of Senior Scholars and his commitment to selecting Shura Council members from among highly qualified individuals with diverse expertise who can continue to serve religion and the nation.

The Cabinet agreed to include the Ministry of Justice, represented by the Judicial Training Center, in the Euro-Arab Judicial Training Network.

The Council authorized a collaboration agreement between the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands in the environmental, water, and agricultural sectors.

It approved memoranda of understanding (MOUs) in labor and employment between the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor, as well as between the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Tunisia’s Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment.

The Cabinet also authorized a memorandum of agreement for healthcare cooperation between the Saudi and Tunisian ministries of health.

The Cabinet allowed the minister of finance, chairman of the General Authority for Awqaf’s board of directors, or a deputy to consider and sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the Omani Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs.

The Saudi Cabinet allowed the minister of finance, chairman of the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority board of directors, or a deputy, to sign a draft agreement with the Federal Republic of Nigeria on customs cooperation and mutual aid.

It authorized a technical cooperation pact between the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission.

The Cabinet adopted a memorandum of understanding for legal cooperation between the Saudi Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers and the Bahraini Ministry of Legal Affairs.

It authorized the chairman of the education and training evaluation commission, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the Arab Administrative Development Organization, an Arab League affiliate, on measurement, evaluation, and accreditation.

The Cabinet authorized a Memorandum of Understanding between the Saudi Capital Market Authority and the Central Bank of Bahrain.
