Asad Umer had chest trouble during court procedures at the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC). He was promptly sent to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) for immediate medical care.
Some of his family members, including Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s son, rushed him to a cardiac hospital. Doctors used ECGs and other basic testing to get a rapid diagnosis.

Umar, a former confidant of Imran Khan, has stood down from his party job and left politics. He chose to retire after more than 10 years in politics, citing his aggressive approach to public institutions.
Asad said his departure was not due to external pressure, describing the last 13 months as extraordinarily challenging for the PTI.
