Drone attack on Israel’s Tel Aviv leaves one dead, at least 10 injured

According to sources, Yemen’s Houthi organization claimed responsibility for an alleged drone strike on Israel’s Tel Aviv, which killed one person and injured at least ten others.

A Houthi armed forces official announced in a social media post on Friday that the Iran-aligned organization had “targeted ‘Tel Aviv’ in occupied Palestine”.

It claimed to have utilized a new drone “capable of bypassing interceptor systems and being unable to be detected by radars”.

The Israeli military claimed it had launched an inquiry into the huge explosion near the city’s US consulate office and will establish why the country’s air defense systems were not activated to intercept the “aerial target”.

“We’re talking about a large UAV [Unmanned Aerial Vehicle] that can fly long distances,” a military officer said during a press briefing after the hit. “We’re not ruling out any possibilities right now.”

According to a social media post, Israel’s air force has expanded patrols to “protect the country’s skies”.

Israeli police said the corpse of a male was discovered in an apartment near the explosion, and the circumstances were being examined.

Footage from the bomb scene showed broken glass scattered over streets as groups gathered near a structure with blast damage. Police taped off the location.
