Kamala Harris likely to secure significant Muslim vote in US presidential election: survey

Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, is likely to secure a substantial share of the Muslim vote in the upcoming election, according to a recent survey by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). The survey, conducted between 25 and 27 August, shows that Harris could receive 29.4% of the Muslim vote.

However, the study indicates a close battle with Green Party nominee Jill Stein, who is predicted to receive 29.1% of the Muslim vote.

Despite Harris’ rising popularity in the Muslim community, 16.5% of Muslim voters are unsure about their favorite candidate.

The study shows a dramatic movement in Muslim voter preferences from the previous presidential election. In the last election, President Joe Biden won just 7.3% of Muslim voter support, compared to Stein’s 36.

The results show that Muslim voters are progressively distancing themselves from both main political parties, with 60% of former Democratic supporters considering voting for a third party.

Furthermore, the study reveals substantial unhappiness among Muslim voters, with 94% criticizing President Biden’s handling of topics such as the Gaza crisis.

The Muslim population in the United States is projected to be over 2.5 million, making their vote crucial in the approaching election.
