Karachi is currently experiencing hot and humid weather, with temperatures soaring and sea breezes suspended. The Met Department has forecasted that the weather will remain hot for the next three days, but relief may be on the way as the second spell of monsoon is expected to arrive from July 19 or 20.
The humidity and light clouds that Karachi residents are experiencing are making the heat unbearable because there are no sea breezes.

Weather update: When will the monsoon rains hit Karachi?
Heavy rain likely to lash Karachi from Thursday
The city saw a low temperature of 32.5 degrees Celsius on Thursday, while a high temperature of 39 degrees Celsius was predicted. But because of the high humidity—which is now at 75%—it feels more like 40 degrees Celsius. Because of the humidity, the heat will feel more intense.
The Met Department reports that the city’s current temperature is 34 degrees Celsius and that winds are blowing at a pace of 10 km/h. The lack of sea breezes has made it seem hotter and more humid, which is uncomfortable for the locals.
According to the department, sea breezes should return in the evening, offering some respite from the sweltering heat. Furthermore, there is a chance of light rain in Karachi’s suburbs today, which might provide a little break from the heat.

According to earlier reports, Karachi’s daytime high is predicted to be between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels averaging about 65%. The heat index was predicted to feel as high as 40 degrees since sea breezes had stopped.
The city was still experiencing extreme heat, although there was a potential of showers and thunderstorms in certain places.
There were rumors that monsoon winds were moving into Sindh, which would provide some respite, especially for the rural areas. On Thursday and Friday, there is also a possibility of westerly winds impacting the weather patterns.
