Lahore weather update: Monsoon alert issued

Following morning monsoon spell, rainwater has inundated various areas of the metropolis including Garden Town, Gaddafi Stadium, Lakshmi Chowk, and Hussain Chowk.

The torrential rain has caused major flooding, causing trouble for homeowners and commuters.

The Meteorological Department predicted that the current rain spell will last for the next three days, potentially worsening the situation in low-lying regions.

The weather agency warned residents to take measures and remain up to current on weather alerts.

Efforts are underway to control the water accumulation and maintain smooth traffic movement in the affected areas.

The Wasa authorities are attempting to repair drainage difficulties and lessen the consequences of the current downpour.

The brief stretch of monsoon rain once again exposes the Lahore civil administration’s inflated promises about low-lying neighborhoods, as well as uptown districts such as MM Alam Road, Liberty, Firdous Market, and Hussain Chowk, which were overwhelmed with waters.

Several residents encouraged officials to enhance the sanitary system while also implementing efforts to bring relief to the masses.
