The notification, published by Notification No. 214/ADC(HQ)/AC on August 24, 2024, affirms that all universities, institutions, and schools—both public and private—within the municipal borders of Tehsil Rawalpindi would stay closed. However, this shutdown does not affect institutions and offices in the Cantonment area, which will continue to function as usual.

Despite the holiday, all emergency and relief departments, as well as connected offices, will remain open to assure public safety and service availability during the procession.

The decision is consistent with the previously issued Notification No. 211/ADC(HQ)/AC of August 23, 2024, and affirms the local government’s commitment to preserving order while recognizing the importance of religious observances.
