Nawaz Sharif opts out of budget debate

PML-N supremo decides to not attend the budget session; the request was approved by the NA Secretariat

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) supremo and former PM Nawaz Sharif has decided not to attend the budget session.

His request for a leave of absence from the budget discussion and approval procedure was confirmed on Sunday by the assembly secretariat, which accepted it.

On the day the budget was introduced to the National Assembly (NA), Nawaz was conspicuously missing as well.

In order to address concerns over the budget, PM Shehbaz and PM Bilawal had a one-on-one discussion in the PM’s office in Islamabad, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office on June 20.
