LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) President Nawaz Sharif has proposed that all political parties, administrations, and institutions in the nation work together to bring assistance to the people.
Nawaz, who chaired the PMLN party meeting on Saturday at the party’s Central Secretariat in Model Town Lahore, stated that in order to lift the country out of the economic crisis and provide assistance to the people, all political and government leaders and institutions must reach a consensus. The committee resolved to continue discussions with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUIF) chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who met the N-League’s top leader this week.

Addressing the delegates, Nawaz emphasized that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s flawed policies had led the nation and its people into the depths of inflation. He stated that high energy prices caused by the PTI government’s policies had become onerous for people, and they were turning to the PMLN administrations for help. The former prime minister said the federal and provincial governments should slash their costs and offer resources for maximum relief to people, and he urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to implement austerity measures across the country. She stated that 3,516,877 energy users from five firms in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Islamabad have received massive relief.
Marriyum stated that 840,000 LESCO electrical customers have received relief, in addition to 653,883 MEPCO, 506,139 FESCO, 731,305 GEPCO, and 785,550 IESCO customers. She stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif granted massive relief of Rs50 billion to power users who use 1 to 200 units Pakistani electricity each month.
