NDMA’s NEOC anticipates more rains in country from Wednesday

The NDMA’s National Emergency Operations Center predicts that rain will continue in various regions of the nation beginning tomorrow.

In a news release issued today, the Authority stated that moderate to heavy rains are forecast in the catchment regions of the Ravi, Chenab, and Jhelum rivers, as well as sections of southern Balochistan and central and southern Sind.

It stated that torrential rains may cause flooding in various urban areas as well as an increase in the flow of water in streams and rivers, particularly in Murree, Galiyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Chitral, Gilgit-Baltistan, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, Swabi, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, northeastern Punjab’s streams and rivers, DG Khan Division, Kalat, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Lasbela, and the hilly streams and torrents of Kashmir.

The Authority advised all relevant agencies and the general people to take the required safeguards to reduce the potential consequences of floods and landslides.

It directed all relevant agencies to notify Emergency reaction Teams and deploy resources to guarantee a prompt reaction to any upcoming emergencies.

Tourists were urged to avoid visiting these sites during the projected period.
