Updated solar panel price in Pakistan – August 2024

Pakistan is making a huge move to solar energy as it seeks to reduce its reliance on expensive fossil fuels. This trend has resulted in a significant fall in the price of imported solar panels, which are presently available for around Rs. 30-32 per watt, the lowest rates seen in recent years.

The price decline is mostly due to overstock in the domestic market and dropping foreign rates. Furthermore, worldwide lithium battery prices have been cut in half, cutting the cost of solar panels on a home scale. However, prices for dry batteries have not witnessed a comparable decrease, since importers are still hesitant to lower costs for local customers.

Over the last year, Pakistan’s solar energy sector has expanded fast, with Chinese imports playing an important role in satisfying increased demand for net metering solutions. The rising cost of grid power has prompted many customers to migrate to more economical and dependable solar energy sources.

This transition to solar power reflects a larger attempt to implement sustainable energy solutions and lessen the country’s reliance on traditional energy sources.
